studio + urban family photography

i am slowly (so very, very slowly) going through my un-blogged sessions from late last year.  i’m not sure i’ll get to them all but i can hope!

i’ve photographed this family since A was just a sweet baby girl.  now she’s got a brother and another one on the way!  they came in for a holiday mini and despite the late november date, it was warm enough to have the majority of the session outside! i love love love urban sessions and how well they show off milwaukee’s historic third ward.  the textures create such a vibrant and dynamic backdrop ~ these are definitely not your grandma’s family photos!

and a few from the studio:)

weston’s first year

i love, love, love year in the life collections. many of the families who choose this collection use it to document a baby’s first year or so. i’ve always been amazed at how much a baby changes in the first year. here are a few from his latest session.

you can view an album of images from all four sessions on the christine plamann photography facebook page.

i’m pretty sure i have book reading images from every single at-home session i’ve done with this family – those boys love their books!

back to blogging!

oh, i’ve missed this blog of mine!  i’m pretty sure that “blog more” is near the top of every year’s list of work-related new years resolutions for me.  it’s such a great way to show recent work, but i find it super hard to keep up with.  so i will do what i can with the time that i have and hope that 2013 brings more blog posts than 2012 did, especially since 2012′s blog posts have gone missing!

in the off chance that you and i are not friends on facebook and you haven’t been subjected to approximately one zillion baby photos, i’ll post some here.  this past october, we welcomed our third daughter, lucy, now 4 1/2 months old.

eleanor, my six year old, is still waiting patiently for this baby to go ahead and learn some tricks already! and has mostly taken on the role of baby observer, giving me updates as to which way she’s looking, whether her legs are moving up and down or side to side, that sort of thing.  this afternoon, though, she asked me if i’d take some photos of her with her baby sister.
lucy is a good sport!

ellie’s interest lasted all of 10 minutes and she went back downstairs to finish a project.

i love when babies discover that their feet are indeed attached to their bodies.  and i love how lu straightens her legs so tight when she’s excited!

starting to get sleepy.

awesome auction fundraiser project!

i was so excited when a fantastic preschool in glencoe illinois (chicago suburb!) asked me to come back this year and help the kids with a project for the annual auction. each child was interviewed and their (often hilarious) questions and answers were paired up with a super spunky photograph! the one-of-a-kind framed piece was then offered to their parents last weekend at the annual dinner auction. i hear there was quite a bit of laughter:)

here are a few of my favorites!

one of the parents sent me this snap of her daughter’s finished project!

baby g | milwaukee newborn photography

i met this sweet baby boy (and his lovely mom and dad) a few weeks ago at their home in pewaukee.  besides wanting to capture the sweet and squishy newness of their newborn, they wanted to include their two doggies in the session.  quigly is NOT a fan of having his photo taken but finally gave in towards the end (evvie didn’t seem to mind too much!).  i’ve never seen a pup pout like that!
